Advertisers selected for identity verification receive a notification via email and in their Google Ads account with instructions on how to begin the process. Upon successful completion of the verification, Google will publish information about the account and ad campaigns in public sources such as the
Ads Transparency Center.
Google also displays the
payer name in the transparency records — the name listed in the advertising account or billing profile. It’s important that this name accurately represents the legal entity or agency responsible for paying for the ads. You can update the displayed name on the
Advertiser Verification page and should select the appropriate options at each step — such as "Verifying on behalf of a client" or "Verifying my own agency" — to ensure your business model is displayed correctly.
The platform reserves the right to re-verify an advertiser's identity or business activity. This may occur, for example, when significant changes are made to a Google Ads account.
Verification timelines are determined automatically, so it's important not to miss any notifications. Once all required information has been submitted, additional instructions for completing the verification process will be provided. These steps may vary depending on the account structure, billing configuration, and whether the advertising is conducted on behalf of an organization or an individual. Failure to complete verification within the specified period may result in
account suspension.The verification must be completed by the administrator of the Google Ads account or the payment profile used to pay for the ads. Detailed information on who can undergo verification is provided in the
